CT scanning or CAT scanning are non-invasive tests that are often used for diagnosing and treating medical conditions. CT scans combine x-ray equipment with sophisticated computers to produce slices or images of the inside of the body. Scans can be done of the bones, internal organs, soft tissue, and vessels in more detail than x-rays because of their 3-dimensional ability.
